    Hi Guys
Dumb question ! i have not shot a rifle/shotgun in many years. im left eye dominant but right handed. im thinking
of getting something with fixed sights (rifle) so…… how does that aiming thing work ?

I was in a similar pickle. After a 20 year absence I picked it up again and found that wearing bifocals changed everything.
My solution was a Red dot scope.
After a little practice I got my confidence back and can shoot the groups I used to shoot in my 20's again.
I also shoot with both eyes open.
Practice adjust and practice some more. It will come.

I like JImN's red dot scope answer.

Other than that, I've heard of people who are left eye dominant but right handed having to lean their head further over, so as to align their left eye with the sights…

I was watching my nephew shoot the other day – a lefty. He shoots with his right hand though and is left eye dominant. He has to bring his head over futher, but he's a better shot than most people I've seen. Looks like you just do what is comfortable and gets you hitting the target!

Honestly I use my non-dominant (right) eye, for both open sight and scoped work. I find that with the right (read: scoped and intrinsically accurate) rifle I can still shoot sub-moa, and I'm blind enough I never measure when shooting pistols. I can also hit torso-sized objects open-sighted with my AR out to 200 yards or so, without my corrective glasses. Your Mileage, as always, May Vary, but that's my $.02 on the matter.
